San Diego here we come!! Yay!

I have been feeling desperate to get outta here! To spend some time with my family in different & beautiful surroundings. Just break free from life for a moment. Try to find my smile. While soakin' up some sunshine.

We haven't been to the beach since summer of 2002 when Branson was this tiny! Oh I miss that baby!! That face brings back so many memories. Memories of a time that was so difficult but we treasure those days that blossomed the beginning of our family.

We stopped and let the kids play in the sand dunes for about 3 and a half seconds.

Wind + Sand = Not so fun

But they thought it was cool to touch.

When we got to the beach it was dark and cold and raining but I was so excited to show my kids the ocean! So we jumped out for a minute. It was beautiful with the moon out and the waves crashing from the storm. I was sad I couldn't get a good picture of what we were seeing.

They loved the hotel! I remember being a little girl and thinking hotels were awesome. They asked if it could be our new house! Shyann kept saying she wished she lived in San Diego because it was so pretty. I'm so nervous for my kids to grow up and move away!

In the morning it was still raining and cold when we got there. We had the beach to ourselves! I guess no one else is crazy enough to be there when it's wet and freezing :)

After just a few minutes of testing the water with their toes they all stripped down and had a blast!

you are my sunshine, my only sunshine. you make me happy when skies are grey. you'll never know dear how much i love you. please don't take my sunshine away.

It was absolutely breathtaking. I am so grateful to my Father in Heaven for the opportunity to witness and enjoy his creations. It was so easy to reflect and feel peaceful there. To forget about everything I want to forget and be so grateful for all the beauty in my life.

We took the kids to see the San Diego temple on our way home. So beautiful.

The girls were in awe of its beauty and how it looked so much like a castle. I hope they will remember how they felt there and that it will strengthen their testimony of the sacred importance of a temple marriage.

It was a great trip! Our kids are getting older and much easier to do things with. It was so fun and we can't wait to go back!

Cute story I want to remember about my little man: While we were in San Diego we watched the new 3D movie "Mars Needs Moms". Jarvis has always been a little obsessive about me. He cares what shoes & shirt I wear, how I do my hair, what color my pedicure is, and has always let other kids know that I'm HIS mom.

Right near the end of the movie is a really emotional part where the mom and boy are saving eachother. Jarvis leaped off his chair onto my lap in an intense part and snuggled up close. You could see so much expression in his face. Then he puckered up and gave me a big kiss and squeeze and said "I like you so much Mom. I love you." I wish I could have had it on video. His little voice is the sweetest. I like you so much too Jarvy. I love you!
