Oh sweet baby boy Rigdon,
You finally came home with us on December 22.
{Funny how it's May now and I am just starting to feel like I can take a breath!}
You were in the NICU for 13 days.
You were on CPAP for 2 days
then weaned to room air for breathing.
Coming home you were 5lb. 8oz.
The first couple of days after you were born you actually stopped breathing more times than Ezra.
The doctors said Ezra was tough and used to fighting in the womb.
But Riggy, you were so tough too.
You were out of the incubator and in a basinet
maintaining your own body temperature on the 15th, only 6 days old.
When you came home Ezra was still in the incubator.
When the nurses would try to wean Ezra off of it he would lose
weight because he was using too much energy to keep warm.
It was very hard to leave Ezra there without you next to him.
He looked so lonely there.
And you looked so lonely at home.
But I knew he would be well taken care of.
Here we are saying goodbye to big "little" brother :)
Seriously have you ever seen anything cuter!?
You were soooo very tiny in your car seat!
I sat next to you in the car ride home.
I love starring at you.
I love your eyes, nose, chin, bald head, long fingers and toes.
Everything about you is so perfect.
Bringing a baby home for the first time is always so fun,
but strange.
but strange.
Changing your tiny preemie diaper for the first time at home
felt so weird without the nurses around.
felt so weird without the nurses around.
You were all mine.
No one else was going to feed you or change you.
I was totally in charge of this tiny handsome baby
and making sure you were ok.
and making sure you were ok.
Oh I can't tell you how excited your big brothers and sisters
were to have you home!!!!
were to have you home!!!!
It was such a miracle to have them get to hold you in their arms.
They were in awe of you.
They love helping take care of you.
You were so so so tiny in your bed all by yourself!
You sleep just like an angel.
We would go visit Ezra every day at the hospital.
It was a lot of work!
I was still not feeling very well and to load you up was a big project.
But we missed him so very much that it was worth it.
It's my very favorite thing to hold you both in my arms.
Such a sweet blessing.
On Christmas we took the whole family to see Ezra.
Trulie colored Ezra a cute little picture.
I love you both so very much.
But I loved my time at home with just you for a few days.
You are so very precious and such a sweet perfect baby.
Love you Riggy Pooh!
