So we are all moved into our new house! Sort of. We still have some boxes to unpack and projects to finish, but we are here! And LOVING IT!! Seriously. I sobbed every time I came to this house while we were fixing it up. Now I can't really remember why. We have been so happy here! I have never been happier! Our home is old and little and not even finished, but it's perfect! I miss the Shumways bad though!! Someday we will build houses next door to eachother with a joining backyard where the kids can play together.
Someday! And I can't wait!
We have been working a little bit on the landscaping which the boys have had fun pulling out all the palm trees and thorny bushes with the old grandpa truck.
I still don't really feel ready to post pictures of the house. There's so many little projects to do and nothing is quite finished. And my furniture {which happens to be mostly preschool furniture} doesn't fit nicely anywhere. But I love all the completed little updates! It makes such a huge difference!
We replaced the old thermostat and all the old ac vents in every room.
Replaced the doorbell.
I was so happy to throw out all the old outlets and light switches!
Dimmer light in the master bedroom is the best idea I have ever had! I love it! :)
Replaced and painted all the closet doors and hardware.
My 2nd favorite update was the carpet and baseboards! Seriously looks like a different house! I barely remember when it looked like the before picture. So gross.
But my favorite update so far has been my black interior doors and glass crystal door knobs!! I told Tyler my idea and we were both kind of nervous of how it would turn out. I thought it might be cheesey, or simply too dark in my narrow hallway. But I seriously love it! I love the feel of the glass knobs and my cute hallway of black doors!!
Hopefully I will have a room finished to show sometime soon! But for now we are just working hard and enjoying more time together as a family this summer!
Glass door knobs? My favorite fixture! They look great on the black doors. Your home looks beautiful - I can't wait to see it.
ReplyDeleteI need to come and see the nest now that you live there!! I love it all!!
ReplyDeleteSo cute!!! I need you to come and do my old little house :))
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun house (even from these tiny little peeks)! I love keeping up with your life through your blog. Thanks for updating! And I'm just like you regarding the weather and water...the warmer the better! I thought I was the only one who doesn't swim in the summer here because it's too cold. We can be wimpy together. :) Congrats on the babies! It would be great to get together soon...maybe lunch with Laurie now that school started. :) (Leslie)
